constant change
I made sure not to keep the key this time (I am still a proud owner of my late Odette's key, but she was my own), since I wanted to hand everything over - the responsibility of finding another tenant, the possibility of having the deposit cashed in and the chance of the new renter damaging the area before I am fully away from the scene. I now have to find a way to remove the ad of the apartment from the Geneva paper unless I decide I am extremely bored and needy of random people contacting me all day everyday for an apartement, which is no longer vacant. Added benefit of the move (just like in any good two-in one shampoo) I need to attempt to sell my playmobile sized "old" refrigerator, which is, at 6 weeks, still under guarantee! I should have known my life could be too ephemerate for this extravagant purchase. The balcony could have sufficed for the winter months. Never mind.
Today again, we worked like bees in our little bee-hive. I tried to tone down the physical due to some post-op cramps and concentrate my efforts on interesting decorating expertise. :) We figured out that one of the light switches is for the balcony light. So, as soon as Benny will finally have bought me that BBQ (hint, hint), and as soon as the weather decides to leave the igloo, we are in for a treat with a bigger balcony than ever before for an evening or weekend barbeque. The bulk of the move is now finished and I suspect I will stay at my new place for the first time tomorrow. How exciting!
We walked up to the heights of Saint Julien this evening after all the hard work to admire some of the most amazing houses you could ever imagine. The multiple benefits of the villas are tremendous making for excellent real estate investment for those who can afford to invest. Apart from excellent design and building quality, the homes have plenty land, are positionned right next to the border, often include a swimming pool and each one bathes in the sunlight of a 360 degree view of mountains. We got a chill from walking in the cold for so long, but still we kept pointing out different characteristics on the houses like children.
Tomorrow after the service, I suspect my parents will need to get on with things here whilst I carry on with tidying there. They came down the mountain each day, essentially to help me with the move, which has been so special, and a pure delight for me.
I will not have the possibility to do a post tomorrow afternoon - no Internet yet, and no phone until the end of the week! In fact, this is so bizarre. President writes to ask about office changes and what I think, and as a result of it, I will be in another office on Monday. I have been away from work for so long it makes me almost nervous. Not the shakey leaf nervous, more like the anxious back to school nervous butterfly feeling.
Makes for a lot of changes. Life is changing and racing by at an incredible pace each week. New on the menu Monday: New colleague, new office, new apartment, new neighbors ... something tells me I am the loudest neighbor this time ... now that could make for a nice change. Really sorry Jack!
