It is February. Welcome to February 2005 everybody! "Back to wearing the nice shoes at work, Euphonies!" so I thought. Wrong - not quite since it started to snow again today. The sky is still threatening although snow is not falling anymore. The roads are nice and clear yet it is so cold out there. Last night, upon picking Charlette up, I noticed snow inside my car. It hadn't melted all day. Brr... Other than the weather ... Today brings with it a few novelties. Pressure in person will be back later on, new colleagues have started, another is leaving, others are planning on leaving. The departure this week in particular is rather saddening. Hard to explain. I feel sad seeing him leave since he had become a real friend to me. We have trained home together, checked out a few things in town together, had a few meals together and poof, he is out of here. Goodbyes are part of life in Geneva apparently. I might as well get used to it. Ronny was telling me the other day that I need to stop complaining since I have done the same everywhere I have been. I settle in for a few months and then I am the one leaving. Very true. But it still hurts. I think you are doing the right thing by leaving, but it still is not easy for us here. You will be missed. I will miss the approachable side of you as well as your philosophical thoughts of the day not to mention the unexpected bright greeting when you walk in the office "hey, beautiful!" and I dont feel that way. You are going to find a great job, ok? Just believe me on that this time. Keep in touch.
This weekend it is "home James" for some important appointments. I am excited to be home for mama's birthday. No fun to spend that on your own. Charlette will discover Paris for the first time ever. She is already excited and ready to go to a place without snow. Just need to get her a little cleaned up for the trip. Driving will allow for space for the clock I wanted to bring down to the mountains as well as the vacuum cleaner mama bought from an expat. All in all, I enjoy the drive. The time is always a good one to think about the zillions of events and "to do"s flying around in my peanut head. On the way there, a handsome young man will accompany me. Look forward to catching up with him there. Should be another nice-but-rushed weekend with a pitstop at the market on Sunday for cheap sunglasses for all my colleagues :).
