friday fresh

Just barged into my place from CVF center in Ambilly (France). What a cool place, though the outside architecture left me wondering whether the builders had tried to copy a UFO. So if you ever design a building you think might look contemporary, please do think what it could resemble ten, twenty years down the line..
.
It ended up being a nice evening tonight. The organisation reps were even able to listen-in to the speaker. "Fresh" from work, I was naturally starving when I got to CVF, and didn't know that the organisation had paid for my meals and for my hotel for me to man the stand. Neat for the food, yet I think I prefer to sleep at home - deal? Sounds like this weekend might not be rich in sleep (what's new though?) but in food - both tangible and intangible. lol. I'll tell you one thing, this is going to be vital for my well-being after this week. Nice break. What's more, this is a non-working weekend. Declined a project: "na, no thanks, not this weekend. Bring it back on Monday if you still need me, yeah?" Hey, Euph', great response!
.
Speaking of "fresh", ever feel like it is Friday and notice it is actually only Monday night? Basically, by Tuesday, I was already worn to the ground. I think many felt like me this week. I spent part of last weekend working, so it all seemed to add up to a scary equasion: physical, emotional and spiritual emptiness. There's no secret as to the source of the fatigue. Try a combination of a lack of sleep, one too many voices raised at work and one too few quiet times spent with God. I notice that in my daily environment, I just need to make a point of being renewed and regenerated each morning anew. Even if that means getting up earlier and sacrificing yet another hour of sleep, it has been worthwhile each time. It's all just too hard to do it in my own strength.
.
Today ended well, with a challenging six hour meeting and then tonight's fab' meeting with a few of those MK encounters you'll never really escape: "oh yeah, I know your dad" and "oh, their boss is in the States right now" and Euph: "yeah. that's actually my dad!"
.
What a roller-coaster week. Makes the weekend all the more special.
