michelin meal

I wake up in the morning and never know what to expect. Any new random crisis can appear at work, highly favoring me to burry my to-do list. *Oh, yipee, another priority number one, which happens to have been forgotten in my job description!* So, you can either dread waking up in the morning because you can hardly advance on the projects (frustrating!), or you can choose to be jazzed about the novelty. I have chosen the latter. At least this morning!
.
Today I calmly finished preparing some notes and questions for our friend at the attraction park before I whisked the intern off to fulfill the newest mission. This one was less of a surprise, more of a unique activity, right in line with the event preparations - perhaps random in its nature without its context. If I had had nothing to do at the office, I would have thoroughly enjoyed the moment. Just like Michelin culinary judges, we sat down and tasted every single course, which will be on the buffet menu for our company event. We started by rating each salad carefully, whilst the server tried best to meet each and every need. *More fries please, oh and I haven't tasted all the ice-cream yet!* (jk)
.
I have organised several events in past jobs, but never was the expectation for the quality of food this high. Must be a French thing. I think the intern enjoyed tasting all the types of meat and the various potatoes etc. but I am worried about the obvious: bad wine in plastic cups (!?) and even worse, about the not-so-obvious because I am not picky enough! What do you expect, I am an MK! I don't sit there and complain like some will during our event. So I took notes and pictures, did my best and asked my questions and negociated a few more things in the contract. I think I will take the list of wines back for big boss to assess. The safer solution!
.
Before being able to continue with the pending at the office, we stopped by a totally wild florist place. Actually awesome and worth stopping by! Can't show you pix of their arrangements, wouldn't be very nice for their business. In fact, the guys aren't all that business-minded, (an understatement - they were majorly creative, borderline spaced-out). They threw some arrangements together and kept changing their minds. I knew exactly what I wanted for the tables, but the ideas just kept flourishing. So I told her: "Lots of ideas, eh?" and she excitedly replied: "you just wait another hour and we will have already have thrown out that idea!". (no thanks!) So we chose what we wanted, took a picture for our records in case she may forget what it looked like the next hour and of course worked in a better and more competitive price than originally stated. Ahh, the art of negotiation.. this one was an easy one.
.
I was happy to chill with mates this evening in Lina's stunning appartement with view of Mont-Blanc and the jet d'eau. Just puts so much stuff into perspective.
