paris prepares

Just got back home to help out with the yard sale (for which I ended up being too ill to help anyway), and I already have to leave. Bummer! Still, it is well worth being home - I enjoy the washing machine, the ironing and pressing service, the relaxed atmosphere, the photo albums, the sleep ins, "free" telephone :), I will miss this house too! I can't help but wonder where I will be for the 2012 games. It would be fun to be in the area ...

... Dad thinks Paris will win. Thirty days until Olympic decision is made and Paris is sure trying hard. Today, the splendid Champs-Elysées has been transformed into a race track where all 28 Olympic disciplines are represented downtown - from running to canoe with artificial above-land pool organized by the Ville de Paris. Paris is pretending to already have won. It is also a great marketing "push" aimed to get a city of sometimes indifferent Parisians involved in supporting the top venue for the games.

Speaking of sports, Simeon just ran the half marathon yesterday! Can't help but being proud of my bro! We could hear the buzz in his voice over the horrible static of our old phone downstairs. He is going to a rodeo to celebrate with some mates - pretty wild. :)
