mountain of a mole hill

Today was a strange day, yet I confidently kept my "unscathed" stance - I was not interested in the stress anyone wanted to inflict upon me. My migrane on Saturday was plenty for me to take for a while. What a good exercise. Sure enough, something went very wrong and blew out of proportion again. As the blame game was taking scores of victims through nasty cc: mails, I chose not to let this affect my day. I was beckoned out of my office by a teary-eyed colleague, upset at the criticism she had viewed as a direct attack at her person. We went up as far as the elevator would take us and there, we tried to cool off. Such a stupid project tore five relationships apart due to five people unwilling to back out. So I dropped it - who cares who was accusing me of murder - I wasn't interested. This is when I refuse to get involved in business: when it gets personal. On the tick of 6.15pm, I jumped up with a rare excitement at the prospect of being able to plan out my evening. I got a daring "Going already, euph'?? Nice life!" (ha.ha.) I just responded "Yep, had enough of this, I am out of here". The attitude could cause you problems after a while, but it was more than necessary this evening. Quickly organized some drinks with my distraught colleague. I will always remember what by boss at Regio Rumänienhilfe would say: "Euph', never forget, people are more important than projects!"
