Today, my office looks the way my room did that one day I got the surprise visit from my landlord. As I wearily walked into the office building, knowing I may not see the daylight from that instant on, I was startled by the fourteen desktops neatly aligned around my desk forming what I call my "DELL island". I dont quite know myself what shocked me so much about the scene, for over a week now, employees have had the first option to purchase a relatively new flat screen desktop and guess who gets to manage the flood of requests aside her daily scores of tasks? It is quite ok though, apart from the mess. The system is now up and running and a mere signature is required on the bills. The surprise delivery by mystery Santa Claus was a good one, as the magical delivery, which had to have taken place in the wee hours of the morning, was on time! No need to call and verify, no need to disappoint eager to-be-owners of the black jets.
Good thing since the rest of the day seemed to almost wiz by with new challenges in preparing 100 presentations and reports. As the deadline approaches tomorrow afternoon, the days tend to be more packed than ever. Tomorrow will be a big day once more as the team tries beat the deadline and still gather all the correct company information together, whilst fighting through the jungle of desktops in the office - but before tomorrow comes, I have got to try to wrap up today! Back to work for now.
