all in aigle
It took a good two hours for us to make it there - but by the time we reached our destination, we could easily understand the reason for calling a village at such height "Eagle" - the view is quite spectacular
There, we met old family friends in honor of their kids' departure to a far away land, where they plan to be involved in missionary and humanitarian work. It was a special time and also an emotional one, with some fragile parents facing the departure of their children and new baby. We had a nice lunch together with a power point presentation on what they are going to undertake over the next months in their new home. My parents had come from Paris for this reason - to partner them in this big step. So, I am staying in the area this weekend.

Amazing that I spent a few days in Aigle over 4.5 years ago. Great memories of some time in personal retreat, hiking the surrounding mountains, a day of skiing...and of course finishing up the days at the inn downstairs from where I rented a room with a warm bowl of fondu. I have on my wall a poster from there showing one of the mountain-side wine fields in the middle of harvest with the caption "Je suis le cep, vous etes les sarments" completing the beauty of the nature and activity portrayed!

The world is small indeed. Either that, or you've been around! The place is also a great illustration for "la semence" like you say (write)... I suspect it is slightly different landscape to the one you live in now, wild!*
