ready for resolutions?
It is Thursday night, 11pm and I just walked in, but this is important to me. And now that all you Internet surfers can see this list, it acts as efficient accountability to keep the goals real. Ok, here it goes, alongside my little helpers… psychological modals: it is said that the first step towards change is to use modals such as ‘In 2005, I will..” :).
For 2005, first of all a few immediate highlights:
- 8th January 2005 Cluses (F): A makeover for Charlette including winter tires, car mats, thorough clean, hopefully a nice oil change with 5W30 in memory of Odette and a few extra trims.
-19-22nd January 2005 Nürnberg (D): Konferenz christlicher Führungskräfte
- 8th February 2005 Geneva (CH): The end of three months work trial period.
For 2005, my “intensive prep year”, a few goals to reach:
- Body: I will stay fit and train for a semi-marathon. That means I will run at least each week of this year with the exception to sickness and injury and partake in a variety of sports activities. Get the medical issues quickly dealt with.
- Soul:
I will regularly attend the awesome Wednesday group in Ferney.
I will strive to look for a cutting-edge church where I can grow and receive and serve either with the children or elsewhere.
I will daily draw my strength from a much Higher source than myself and learn to start my day with peace.
I will be aware of needs around me and worldwide.
- Mind:
I choose to prepare myself for a year of learning.
I aspire to keep my intellect fit and build a solid baggage of knowledge and resources for immediate use.
I want to develop linguistic skills and acquire solid financial roots.
- Character:
I will be transparent in my relationships and strive to avoid ambiguity therein. (wow, this is even becoming old English)
I desire to learn to be more sensitive to those who need grace and to be even clearer to those, who need to hear the message clearly.
I choose to learn to speak good of others realizing that I am, most of the time in a much more sorry state than they are.
I want to grow in humility and grow out of pride and jealousy.
I want a Paul, a Barnabas and a Timothy in my life: a mentor, a peer and a mentee.
I strive to share my finances in a new way and with a sincerity of heart.
I aspire to be loyal.
- Career:
I will develop a wide vision and multiply contacts therof [huh – therearound? ;) ].
I will gain insight in business strategy, networking, investment, needs and market niches.
I will build up a trust relationship with management, seeking myself, to remain upright and honest in all my dealings – and never to cross the line of Euphonies’ethos.
I will expand my role as far as possible in order to allow growth and new experiences.
I will be flexible, proactive and less reactive in my initiatives.
I will develop a professional attitude and learn to cope with destabilizing individuals and/or macho intentions and comments.
- Social:
I want to make reliable friends this year, be able to enjoy their company.
I want to be involved in an association, club or music school. This could mean flute lessons, drums or whatever. Just forced ‘no work’. Kite flying for goodness sake!
I desire to stay alert (or become that, maybe) and be ready for even immediate change in my life. Above all, I desire to give glory where it is due.
Well!?!?
Let the year then begin!
